Why should you wear a mask?
Studies regarding Covid19 have shown that the virus is transmitted person to person.
1. Droplets: When an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks, droplets with the virus fly into the air from their nose or mouth. Anyone who is within 6ft of the person can breathe those invisible droplets into their lungs and become infected.
2. Aerosolized transmission: Research shows that the virus can live in the air for up to 3 hours. When you breathe air that has the virus floating in it, it gets into your lungs and you become infected.
3. Surface Transmission: Another way to catch the virus is when you touch surfaces that someone who has the virus has coughed or sneezed on within 6 feet of. You may touch a countertop or door knob, that has been contaminated and then touch your nose, eyes or mouth becoming infected. The virus can live on surfaces like plastic and metal for up to 3 days. To stop it, clean and disinfect all counters, knobs, and other surfaces that are touched frequently in your home and work. Remember when you are grocery shopping or pumping gas items you are touching may have been contaminated by someone before you that was not wearing a mask.
WEARING A MASK PREVENTS DROPLETS FROM AN INFECTED PERSON FROM CONTAMINATING THE AIR AND SURFACES.
WEARING A MASKS PROTECTS YOU FROM TOUCHING YOUR FACE AFTER TOUCHING A CONTAMINATED SURFACE.
REMEMBER MANY PEOPLE ARE ASYMPTOMATIC AND DO NOT EVEN REALIZE THEY ARE SPREADING THE VIRUS, THIS COULD BE YOU!
